Anyone have experience with Harmon Kardon?

I forgot to mention that this will get a lot of time powering my cans as well (don't have a headphone amp) so take that into account if you've used their receivers as a headphone amp.

I've used a much cheaper Harman-Kardon AVR in the $300 range and it was about the same as driving my Sennheiser HD 600s off my Macbook Pro.

However, I would try to listen to it before I bought it and see what you think.

HK's are built like tanks, and offer excellent performance for the money. I've owned 2, currently using an HK AVR 630 for my HT setup. It does everything I ask it to, clean power, gobs of power, and quiet at that.

Good luck in your search and decision.

I (probably entirely erroneously) associate harmon kardon with awful sounding PC speakers with the sort of gimmicks that fit well into the specification boxes in DELL catalogues...

I bought a receiver and DVD player and I am not impressed with either machine.
The DVD 22 has a lot of problems, my first AVR 135 died quickly and it took HK two months to replace it.
