I'm surfing ebay for a D-777 and I've gotten no results with a search, but a lot of people sell older ones without listing the model number (how painful is that?). I willing to hunt through the unlabeled ones, but a visual of a D-777 would sure help. Can anyone help me out.

Thanks, that's a great help. I'm sure I'll get weary of the idea very quickly as well.

D-777 is a great player. I own two. When the ni-mh batteries die you should be prepared for sticker shock on the new batteries. The D-777 was sonys previous top line portable player, dual 1 bit dac's. Only dual 1 bit unit made at the time.

Just bought a D-EJ01 from a sony outlet store. $179. Tremendous price. Even better than a D-777 in sound quality. Uses even more expensive ni-mh batteries. Full warranty...

Before 9-11 i had enough trouble getting my portable stax setup thru airplane security, will not even try in the next few months, so i needed something else to travel with. MDR-NC5 headphones are pretty good. Not stax, but they will have to do.

I assume that this is out of the line-out. Would you care to elaborate? I've been thinking of which PCDP to get for a while, and the DE-01 supposedly has excellent DACs which are also in more affordable units down the line (925? 915? 825? 815?).

Thanks in advance.
