[Matcha]

Trying to decide between crimson and black for mine. I may spring for a pair of Darth Beyers in the future, in a reddish wood, so crimson may work better if I want to switch the pads onto those, but I'm not sure how bad it'd look on the stock 880s.

Help?

Go to Beyer Manufaktur page beyerdynamic Shop*-*MANUFAKTUR choose DT 770 and configure design as you like. It should give you the idea how it will look. For DT-880 there are only 2 padding choices there - black and the original silver. You could try DT 990's to fool around with crazy design plans .

Yeah, I've already looked at the Manufaktur page. I suspect crimson would be all right, but just want to make sure!

Though gray, black and red should match pretty well, I would use something a bit more neutral red than crimson. Crimson seems a bit annoying or too prominent in this combo.

You better do not put non-DT880 pads on a DT880, the DT880 does not like pad rolling. DT770 pads on a DT880 sound like a Koss Portapro on acid.

Skylab seems to enjoy the leather pads on the DT880!

And if I don't like them, I can always save them for the Darths when I finally get them.
