put your grado drivers in the housings of another headphone.

or mount your grado cylenders with drivers inside on a diferent headband

I made various improvements, including no more cable mess...

Realistically...you could use some sort of blocker to keep the cups from rotating too much - maybe a small piece of a wire hanger. you could glue or tape it to the plastic pivot and let it extend down just far enough to prevent excessive rotation.
