I dropped my iPod and my heart nearly stopped. No damage though, it still works like a champ. I guess they're a little more durable than I thought. The Contour Showcase I have it in probably helped a bit too.

All it took was that one drop for be to stop whining about the cost of the case!

I jogged with it 6 days a week for about two months. The last few days it kept freezing and then finally was perpetually stuck at the Apple icon.

Apple replaced it under warranty. BUT>>>>>> I have jogged quite a bit with the replacement (though not everyday) and not a burp out of it.

So I am inclined to think that I just had a bad mini originally though the jogging may have hastened it's demise.

How's that for a nice equivocal answer?

I doubt if your mini being bad caused the freezing.

My Ipod kept freezing at about 30 minutes of a brisk walk each day with the Apple logo coming on. I had to keep resetting it at home to get it to work.

I use one of those (not so attractive) Speck belts when I walk now to hold the Ipod. I'd recommend one of those versus holding it in your hand...I've had no problems since.
