re: E10

You don't know the meaning of frustrating until your E10 ejects it's innards as opposed to the disc

BTW, the blue DR7 is navy, down to a purple, almost black, depending on the light. And it looks far better than that funny N10! (another internals-ejector).

My gold Sharp DS9 is the best looking md unit I've ever seen in person. Even the remote has a slight gold finish. Sharp sound quality is really quite good too. I can easily tell the difference between SP and LP2 recordings with this thing. Don't think I'll be using LP2 ever again.

It seems that Sony and Sharp take turns at being the "style leader" in MD units. Right now, Sharp is WAY ahead with their new line-up of recorders and players; some of those latest Sony models targeted towards the U.S. market are about as shabby-looking as I've ever seen. Probably equally-poor quality.

I'm glad I have the R909 and R910, as they do have a look of class/quality about them.

lol...have no fear, zool, that battery only comes before the mdlp days of sharp. this is the dr7:
the ordinary gumstick available everywhere, not the internal one where it would cost $$ to replace (or e10/n10 = disposable units?

i agree, sbg. btw, why did you choose to sell the r910 instead of the 909. and do i see an auvi unit in your shopping list somewhere? it's time to join the sound cult

Tina,

I'd never sell either portable recorder, although my need for an MDR is not what it was with the acquisition of the MXD-D5C. For sure, I'm a lot more intertested in MD players, these days. The DS8 sure looks like a winner, but I have the MZ-E707 and an older (but excellent) MZ-E80.

Tina,

My sig at the T-Board lists all five MD units - four portables plus the deck. I should update the profile, though.

I'm all for someone donating me their DS8 or the new DS9.

Wow, that DS9 DOES look amazing... I'm actually going to be getting one of the older Sharp recorders (MD-MT180) because I've heard the sound of pretty much all the Sharps trumps the Sonys. I found the MT180 for $84.95 brand spankin' new!

Wow, that's a good price

. I got my IM-MT899 (same as 880) for ~$230 and it was brand new too. But I'll probably sell it soon, I want DR7

. Don't really need nor do I want a NetMD any more. LP2 sounds ok unamped. But once you hear it through an amp, all it's flaws will clearly be revealed.
