Just curious. Had mine for a week or so and just wanted to see if anyone has done any opamp changes or other mods. Sounds pretty decent so far, but I always want to do more.

only mod I know of is a change of resistors TR2 and TR6
Swap them with 40K Resistors and you increase the output voltage to around 3.5watts RMS.

This was taken from mp3car.com forum.

another option is to swap out the Op-Amp's with Bur Brown OPA627AP

It currently has two Bur Brown opa604ap's

Theres also some areas silkscreened but not filled in. A resistor, a capacitor and possibly a crystal. I dont know enough about audio circuits to trace what they do.

You can upgrade the PSU, install a Zapfilter, and a precision clock. Then you will have a completely new beast.

Op-amps are bad! No op-amps!!!

Uh... but it has 2 already so???

Thanks. I will look into it. I was planning on an upgrade to those opamps and maybe some better caps in the audio circuit as well.

NO! don't upgrade those op-amps. Remove them entirely and install a Zapfilter, which will take over the entire analog output stage. Also install a precision clock and upgrade the PSU.

Op-amps=BAD BAD BAD !

Interesting idea. But it seems alot to spend on a DAC I paid $110 Cdn for.

I think if I was going to spend that kind of cash, I would definitely just buy a better dac. I like doing cheapo upgrades to play with things to see if they can be better.
