Anyone compared the line out of a 2nd gen nano VS a 5.5G Ipod? Nano is weaker!?!

I have compared tonight my 2nd Gen 8GB nano with a 5.5G 30GB Ipod...
Using them with my Hornet the line out of the 5.5 is quite stronger than the Nano's one... Stronger in terms of volume and, altough I didn't make a proper critical listening, it also seemed a tiny bit clearer/more transparent in terms of sound quality.

Anyone else experienced the same thing?

The most noticeable difference was sheer volume. The 5.5Gb 30GB was LOUDER than the Nano...

Setup used was the two ipods, a jumbo cryo dock, and my hornet.
The same song was played on both ipods connected to the amp (one at a time, obviosly)

The 30 gb was louder so it means it has a stronger lineout signal. Anyone else found the same thing?
