Hello everyone,
I play online MUDs a lot.
MUD - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
These are text-based online games that you can reach with a telnet client, i use one name dmushclient:
Index of /files/mushclient
mudconnect.com: The Mud Connector - Mud and RPG game index, mudlist and reviews has a BIG list of all the muds on the internet.
I found it very surprising that a lot of sighte dpeople play muds still. I mean some muds, as you can see on tmc, have more then 100 players at each given time even though they are only text-based games.
So, i wonder if there are any head-fiers playing these kind of games?
I especially enjoy sci-fi/cyberpunk/shadowrun/modernday kind of games but I play allkind of muds. One I have enjoyed in particular lately is aeonian dreams.
Greetings, Anouk,

muds are far more rp than any computer 'role playing' game could ever be. you interact in a world full of other humans and can actually role play rather than select pre-conceived adventures or pick this and that.

MUD is and was a great way to RP without the caffeine and farts in your living room. i have not played in a long time -- went back to pen and paper!

Hello everyone. There are indeed rp enforced muds but a lot of them are not. One of my favourite muds lusternia is rp-enforced, but aeonian dreams is not for example. I am not a heavy rper or pker myself.
Oooooh text adventures dont get me started on those, i have to change the thread titl enow! I guess you know about the ifarchive then? THE place for text adventures, or rather interactive fiction as it is called nowadays. Ther is still some commercial IF around namely made by Howard Sherman and each year there is an IF competition on usenet.
Greetings, Anouk,
