unfortunately I havent found a legit flac store close to the size and selection of the itunes store.
 
Here's an interesting article about a "site x" http://gizmodo.com/5475006/the-secret-world-of-private-bittorrent-trackers.  It's really sad that there is no legal alternative to something like this; I have to order cd's on amazon and take the time to rip/store them.  If there was any legal website with a library as big as this unknown site with flac 100% log rips, I would gladly pay for it.  Look at how many versions of DSotM they have ...

Linn records is great quality (both recordings and music). It's just a shame that their catalogue isn't a bit bigger. I started using it when I got one of the Linn DS players and it came with some free download tokens. Almost all of my music still comes from Amazon as CDs though. I must go record hunting one day soon.

It's faster than UPS ground. And, since your music collection is going to last for years to come, then I'm sure you have some sort of data backup which would make re-downloads unnecessary. 
 
Loss-less downloads are definitely limited at this point but growing. The benefit of ordering a disk is that you can sell them. You can't sell a download.

Thats a point that i do agree. 
Sometimes i buy cd's...rip the tracks i like, and sell the cd on mint condition on Ebay.

but when it can easily take 4 hours to download something a redownload is insurance against one of many things that can happen to an internet connection during that time

^ They would have to allow a re-download if your download did not complete or was interrupted. There are consumer laws about that. You pay for something, they must deliver. Other than that, you should back up your music collection anyway since hard drives crash.

I wonder WHAT site x is. Is it appropriate to buy downloads from amazon and then get the flac online? Im still a bit surprised that a record company hasn't utilized bittorrent technology to cut down costs and sell high quality file.
