Boy... I don't know about the GS-1.

First, of all... you can't get them, or any of the Headamp products. So... unless you want to wait for 9 months... I'd "forgedaboudit!" After about 4 months, I have.

From the reviews, it can't be that good... most say its sound is "too lean and analytical." That might have been good with the "old" version of the Senns, but the "new" versions don't need that.

So... for my money... they're just not an option anymore.

I'd be looking at the excellent X-CANv8 (tube/SS hybrid - better with low impedance phones), or the GS Solo (great, but a bit pricey), or the HR-2, or the KICAS, or perhaps others... maybe even the Meier Audio Opera (now on sale).

The wait time for the GS-1 is 2 months, not 9 months...I just finished 3, 5 to go...

I am really tempted to get the M3, but the thing is i can't do DIY myself. Forget about balanced or not, i just want a headphone and pre-amp combo under $1k which does both job decently. Is it that hard to find one?

Did you get some help?

That's what you told me in March.

2 months sure hasn't been the experience in the recent past... and... you've got quite a backlog of several other amps (e.g. Pico, GS-X, etc.). The Pico backlog alone is more than that.

Thanks for the info, i've seen that. I guess i'll just have to hang around and wait for more reviews and the woo and littledot first before making any decission. I'll take the DAC-1 Pre or M902 if money is no issue....i guess they are just out of my price range. I don't want a DAC-1 because i think it is design to be more of a DAC than a Headphone amp, what i want now is a good headphone amp + preamp. Thanks for the suggestion

You first asked me about it on 4/9, and based on that it would be the next GS-1 that I have to build. Since that time I received the enclosures I was waiting on and have built and shipped 15 of them
