I've never heard of it for health reasons. Some don't take returns for IEMs. The best thing is learning to interpret frequency response charts, huge time saver for the tuning you want or want to avoid.
I'd recommend first getting a 7hz Salnotes Zero:2 for $24 and use how great those sound as a baseline to measure other IEMs and also the tuning is so good.
