Any opinions / reviews on the Allnic HPA5000?

Yes, of course, I still have the HPA 5000. I am using it with the HE6 and the LCX.
All what I have written already can be re-confirmed after quite a long time using it.
For the HD800, I brought the Violectric V281 which is the better pairing. But the HE6 sounds better with the Allnic (although the V281 does also a very good job).

Sorry for my late reply. That's great to hear. Oftentimes people espouse a product and then turn around and switch it out as if it was underwear. It's great to see that this amp holds up to everything you said about it in your impressions. Any idea whethere Allnic will be at RMAF? I'd love to get to hear the HPA 5000, and the HPA 3000.

I know exactly what you mean ...!
No, I don't know whether they will be at RMAF. If you are really interested in an Allnic, you should find a way to hear one of their amps. Unfortunately, it was not possible for me (in Germany) and I had to take the risk...

Can you please elaborate in which regard the Violectric is a better pairing than the HPA 5000 with the HD800. I am asking this, because I know what the HD800 sounds like with the V281 and I am interested in the HPA 5000 and would like to use it with among others the HD800. Thanks.

Sure !  The HPA 5000 is not designed to work with high impedance HP`s (I tried only the HD800). Please find my comments given on page 2 already - and in the thread mentioned in (II).

"HD800:
Well, the HPA-5000 is an OTL/OCL amp. designed for headphones with 30-50 ohm impedance. According to Allnic, higher impedances should not be a problem. Unfortunately, my HPA-5000 oscillates when using the HD800 (volume in the left and right channel goes up and down). Usually this should not occur but there are a few reports about this behavior, Allnic said. They offered a "matching device" for 300 ohm to me which should solve this problem. So, please take this as a neutral, preliminary information - further impressions will follow."

"I met Mr. Park at the High End show in Munich some weeks ago. It was really a pleasure talking to him. I can absolutely support what you are saying about the HPA-5000. It is a great pairing with low imp. headphones. I enjoy the HPA-5000 very much with the HE6. It sounds fantastic with every stile of music. No comparison to my LF ...! However, I would not recommend it for the HD-800 (I use 2 extra transformer provided by Mr. Park for the HD800).
To me, the HPA-5000 was the right choice because I like the HE6 much much more than the HD-800."

I tried the extra transformers only twice. The HD800 sounded dark and "slow"

Thank you kensonic for your reply. Since I only want to use one amp with my headphones I have to look further. I hope to find a good tube head amp, that suits all of my headphones.

To power your HD-800, reports have it that the HPA-3000 is the better match.
