I'm itching to buy one of these for my wife who works in a noisy environment (i.e. blabbermouths). The thin cable is of concern to me as a few reviewers mentioned that it degraded a little too easily.

I wish to know if anybody has any tips on easy mods one could perform to strengthen the cable so that it wouldn't be so easy to damage.

Can anybody help?

It's a pretty rugged and thick cable. I have had mine for over a year and it doesn't show any sign of wear. I don't use them every day, but I do use them a few times a week. Just FYI, noise cancelling on almost all headphones is least effective on voices as they are transient in nature and not steady. The NC circuitry is designed for steady state noises like fans, air conditioners, travel motion etc. and mostly cancels noise in the lower frequencies.

I am a Bose fan but I think IEMs might be a better choice if you think your wife can tolerate the in ear sensation.
