Maybe I've missed something. Where have you heard that information? I can't find any info on 16G clix2. It took them about a year to come out with 16G from 8G. I guess it was very challenging for them to even stuff clix 2 with 16Gs of memory, so I highly doubt this thing from ever happening. Or, like I said, maybe I've missed something.

x2. It's the first time I read about 16GB clix2. SQ-wise this player is unbeatable IMHO, so when waiting means no pleasure from listening to the music and watching movies in the meantime, then I'd buy 8GB version. It's far enough for a daily portion of music even in highest lossy codec bitrates.

Majkel, do you think the Clix2 sounds better than the ifp-799?

Does the ifp-799 sound exactly like a Meizu? I remember you compared them, sime time ago.

Where are you guys finding the Clix2 8gb for sale? I can only find the 4gb versions.

It's not out in US, yet, though you can still pick one up on ebay for a ridiculous amount. It's been out in Korea so I figure it'll be out in US soon, too.

Meizu M6 vs. ifp-799: Stronger bass thump, a bit colder midrange and more distant soundstage, but the EQ is 10-band so more flexibility in adjusting the sound. I care a lot for the midrange to be accurately reproduced, so the Meizu has gone away. Actually they use the same DAC but it's a separate chip in the Meizu while in the iRiver it's integrated into PNX0101 SoC which means shorter signal paths and less metal-semiconductor junctions in the circuit. Also, the ifp has got a direct headphone output, Meizu powers the headphones via capacitors (tantalum = bad sound

Regarding clix2, if it's not available at http://www.theiriverstore.com people from the US should wait till it comes IMHO.

Is the ifp internal amplifier the same hissy, high gain one used in the Meizu? How many mW is the output?
How many eq-bands does the ifp have? I may pull the trigger for one.
Thanks for the info.

Both are hissy, 18mW per channel @ 16 ohms. Meizu EQ: 10-band with 1dB steps, ifp: 5-band with 3dB steps. However the equalizer is usable. When you attach some decent headphones, flat adjustment will serve you well IMHO.

I guess it will never happy. New iriver E100 and W7 only have 8GB storage.
