Looks like I have to pry it open to get to the connections, darn. Anyone have any tips? I've got a set of "jewelry" flathead screwdrivers, very fine, but don't want to damage my cans.

Not sure if I should use two screwdrivers to separate the seal, or one to try to push downward on.

you have to peel/pry off the badges that say AKG. obvious screws after that.

They are VERY thin aluminum, so be careful. They are just glued on though.

as nikongod said, the badges are actually pretty hearty though, theres a little indent on the side so you can slide something small into them. soldering new headphone wires directly to the drivers.. thats where the fun comes in
