I'm looking at picking up an SPL meter as an investment for my ears. A number of Head-Fi'ers have recommended the Radio Shack model, however, its sensitivity only goes down to 50 dB. In terms of applications, I would like the SPL meter to be able to measure headphone output levels, sound leakage, computer noise, bedroom, speaker calibrations, etc. Interested to hear your experiences with specific brands/models and qualities/feature sets to look for such as tripod mounting, device/computer recording. Either analog or digital is fine (though the latter I imagine is easier to capture accurate readings) and sub-$300 would be ideal. Also, where are the best places to purchase and if there are specialized North American distributors/resellers that sell direct.

Thanks!
