I have been informed by a reputable tube distributor that the 1940 (ish)
sylvania 274b rectifier blows away the Sophia Princess.

Anyone with experience able to comment on that.
I ave a Woo Audio Amp WA6 SE coming

Interesting. i once saw a pair of vintage Sylvania 274 b tubes on eBay being auctioned. I should have bidded. From my experience, I have had very good results with vintage Sylvanias. All in all, you can't go wrong with the old Sylvanias from the golden age.

Good luck finding one for less than $500, that's what I have to say about that

I find it interesting you say that. I have found them from a very reputable dealer for $200 each. These are early vintage 1940(s) 274 B(s).

I'm most interested if they really add to sound quality? I would be putting 1 into a Woo WA6 SE Amp

That seems like a good price based on what other 274B's cost, but I have never heard the Sylvania, so I can't really say if it's worth the price versus what the Sophia 274B's cost.

However, in my Decware CSP-2, the 5Y3G sounds better anyway. I don't think the 5Y3 is an option in the Woo6, though.
