Any Dynavector DRT XV-1S owners know what the hell this thing is?

There is something that came in the box that is confusing the hell out of me. It looks almost like a perfect black cube with two (adjacent) sides removed. There is a clear plastic "window" that wraps around the sides opposite the ones that were removed. My initial guess was a stylus guard, but it just seems like the fit would be too precarious, with maybe .5mm clearance. Plus there is the fact that the picture of the stylus guard online looks nothing like this. I haven't tried using it as a stylus guard because it seems like it might fit, but I'm not taking any chances on a cartridge this expensive...

It is a stylus guard. It is a friction fit against the sides of the cartridge body that keeps it on.

This thing as a prophylactic is as equally fraught with peril to use as not.

What CarbonTi said; and yes, it does look incongruous:

You guys rock!!! I've been sitting on this thing for a week afraid to put it on... TTVJ called Dynavector for me but didn't receive an answer. Now I can start working on the geometry!

How do you guys put it on... do you slide it from the front or from underneath?
