Sure, just get an Android smartphone with IPS screen and USB OUT support. The Sony X1050 has an AMOLED screen, not IPS but definitely no slouch. Much better black levels than IPS. I had that player and the screen is just gorgeous.

I would get a phone, but i'm looking for a dedicated DAP as I already have a phone, and i want something with a better battery life.

Yes. Like I said, the Sony X1050/X1060. Also the iRiver Spinn and the Microsoft Zune HD.

The same as on every other consumer-oriented MP3 player I owned. Perfectly decent for portable use.

I've owned both and they're both fine. The X1050 is maybe a little bit warmer. All these differences between DAPs are extremely exaggerated here on Head-Fi. Listen for yourself.
