Nice to know that our matches were followed overseas also. :) It'd be nice to take a look of those hltv's sometime.

Yes I 'know' natu. I've talked to him few times on Assembly's and other events. Nice guy. IIRC he still plays on top.

Thought you would know Lurpis and Natu a bit better since I heard Euro players are more close knit than American ones. That said, I still talk to fr0d and several other top tier players that play. If you want I could host some. : )

CS never made sense to me. It's a twitch fps but its extremely slow compared to other FPS games like UT2k4 and Quake 3, not to mention its movement is extremely primitive. Heck, Quake 1 is faster. Why play a skill based game if theres a very low skill ceiling placed on you by the game itself?

The nice thing about Counter-Strike, 1.6 and Source, is that it's highly customizable. You have deathmatch, gun game turbo and numerous other fast paced mods for it and then the slow and strategic versions that are based around realism strategies. The are leagues and ladders that support both kinds of game speeds and I find that's where it gains an edge around deathmatch shooters like UT, Quake and pals... Although as a long time UT fan, I feel they do much better in the deathmatch category! :)

Skill in FPS games isn't always based on who can shoot the moving target the fastest, but which team can win the most (in some cases, this does not revolve around kills-- i.e. planting bombs, rescuing hostages, etc.). I feel you've limited yourself to a specific sub-genre of FPS games, MrGreen, and never gave the rest a chance.

The Specialists > DoD > Natural Selection > CS  in terms of HL1 mods :p (well, CS is the better competive game tho )

Too bad both DoD (especially DoD) and CS got butchered with the source versions :<

Lurppis I know only through internet.

I actually have a few good friends who I've got to know through CS. I mean friends who I actually meet in real life every now and then. :)

i've played CS for 8 years.  played CAL for a while, but then stopped.  in recent months, i've stopped playing since the server and community/clan i've played with for 6 years or so finally disbanded.  it was a sad day when i couldn't find their server.
