been out of the loop; last i checked, my 1st gen shuffle handedly beat my dell dj, dell axiom pda, iriver h120, and a few random others in headphone quality; anything better now? what about the 2nd gen shuffle?

does the 1st gen shuffle still reign as headphone out champ? i can't believe how much i love mine

I heard nothing but good comments on the 1st shuffle sound quality. Never tried though ...

The SQ of the 1st generation shuffle is very good.
One of the best from all portable mp3-players I have heard.

To be honest haven`t heard any of the new gen Ipods.

To my ears, the Rio Karma beat out the Shuffle for SQ before the Shuffle even existed. I would take the Karma and the vibez over the Shuffle for SQ any day.
