Any anime series that you've been enjoying?

I just couldn't get into Katanagatari. It was way too talky for me, and not all that interesting. A lot like Bakemonogatari, coincidentally.

Nice to know there's a lot of people interested in anime here.

I'm currently watching a lot of shows this season. Favorites would have to be either Kaichou wa Maid-sama or Angel Beats. If anyone's interested here's my currently watching list. http://www.anime-planet.com/users/AsYLuMDeMoN/anime?ft=qf&watching=1

It reminds me of Kenshin meets Bakemonogatari.  Seeing as it's based on stuff from the same writer as Bakemonogatari, that's not a real huge surprise.  I actually kinda like the talky part...it's different.  To each their own, though.  I can't say my taste is always very mainstream at all.

Team Anime Planet.  Rawr.  I'm only meandering through stuff right now, and this thread goes through periods of deep slumber then resurrection, but it's got a wide variety of opinions so it's interesting.  Course, head-fi in general has a wide variety of strong opinions, so go fig huh?

My profile is not nearly as impressive as fenixdown's, but here it is: http://www.anime-planet.com/users/Equus

Legend of Galactic Heroes. This is a 110 episode anime from 1984 and so far (up to episode 32) it's great. The plot has been a scarily accurate description of how the American people were sold on the war in Iraq in 2003. I can't believe how a fantasy story written in '84 could exactly predict current events, but watch it and you'll see...

By the way, has anybody ever seen Armored Trooper VOTOMS? There are a couple torrents out there, but they are super slow, so can somebody tell me if it's good enough to buy?

VOTOMs imo was only mediocre. It wasn't really that impressive. I can give you the synopsis if you'd like.

Ill have to look into the legend of galactic heroes, though its sort of my policy to avoid any anime with more than 26 episodes lol though i have made exceptions for FMA and Code Geass.

and i know ive been watching it since it started last year(its been on that long already?!?!) but i just got my copy of the first funimation release of FMA Brotherhood on Blu Ray, had to share my excitement :)

also, been watching claymore, and that shows pretty sweet too, might have to purchase the blu ray for that one as well.

If you'd like to try some more 24-26 episode series I'd recommend Ergo Proxy (http://www.anime-planet.com/anime/ergo-proxy) and Ghost in the Shell: SAC (Second season called SAC 2nd GiG (http://www.anime-planet.com/anime/ghost-in-the-shell-stand-alone-complex). Until Kara no Kyoukai finished (Also worth looking into, 7 episodes or "movies" all except for two being an hour long, the two being two hours if I recall) Ghost in the Shell was my all time favorite anime. Based on the 20+ episode series you're watching I think you'd like these two as well. Of course I could be wrong.

Also forgot to mention Black Lagoon, both seasons are only 12 episodes, but the second season takes off as if it's part of the first season. OVA for season three has been announced and I'm anxiously waiting for it. (http://www.anime-planet.com/anime/black-lagoon)

Got FMA Brotherhood blu rays too.  Looking forward to checking it out, as I didn't indfulge in the streaming release of it.  Ironically, I also started Claymore and kinda stalled after the first DVD for some reason.  I think it may be because I was considering upgrading to the blu rays and giving away my DVDs, but my finances have recently gone south a little so that isn't as attractive an option.

Anyone have any experience with the Claymore Blu Rays?  I've heard mixed reviews about whether they're at all worth upgrading or not.  Most of it is leaning toward the "not" because of the upscaling not really making it compelling, it sounds like.

I liked Ergo Proxy a lot.  It's not really high on my list of faves, but it was pretty solid.  Re-l's character design was pretty awesome too, which doesn't hurt.  The reveal of the world idea was pretty interesting too, if paced a little slow sometimes.

Dude...you're a bandwidth killer.  LOL  I had considered checking out fansubs, but when I saw the license had been secured and the release wasn't THAT far off, I just held off.  There's too much other stuff in my backlog anyway.  ^_^

Have fun with Ergo Proxy.  Worthwhile, IMO, but easy to take in whatever size chunks you want to.  I both love and hate those series where you feel compelled to watch more and more.  Maybe I'm just too obsessive.  Heh.
