I'd like to upgrade my desktop PC's audio. After thinking about it I just realized what would be the perfect solution. An amp like the Meier Aria (with USB connection, decent DAC, headphone amp) and power amps to drive a pair of small desktop speakers. Small size is important naturally.

Any such products that you know of?

Perhaps use the headphone output of the Aria as input to power amps.

Thanks, but that would make the setup too big, both in size and investment-wise. Any other options?

Nearest thing I can think of would be something like this JVC receiver with USB in.

JVC RX-D205S

eCost had the JVC RX-DS201 for $79.95 recently. If they come back in stock, it's hard to beat.

<edit> of course, you'd be stuck with the headphone amp of the receiver, but it's a start. </edit>

I suggest the Firestone Fubar II (USB DAC) + Big Joe V1.3 (speaker amp).

this one have USB input (dac), headphone amp and able to drive speaker. not sure whether you like tube amp though.
