Anyone lucky enough to compare these two amps? I'm hankering for a taste of tubes and I know the Wave 8 was universally loved, but I'm wondering if anything was lost sonically in the upgrade to 20 watts with the Antique Sound Labs Wave AV-20?

Also do you think the Wave 8 could drive my 4 ohm 84dB/W/m Spica TC-50s? I never listen loud.

4 ohms and 84db are not tube exactly tube friendly specs, so I doubt that a low powered tube amp will drive those speakers well at all. Perhaps if the impedance curve is very flat you might stand a chance, but still 84db is quite low. There are rare cases though where what looks impossible on paper seems to work in reality for some reason.
