My question is... I heard somebody got an ogg vorbis plug-in to work for an ipod, so it can play ogg! Has that happened with a zen?

No. There are no DAPs that I'm aware of supporting Ogg Vorbis. All support MP3, and many WMA as well, but not ogg

You might be thinking of this: http://ipodlinux.sourceforge.net/

The guy ported a version of Linux to the iPod, replacing the iPod's OS. It's still in early alpha. But, once he gets it more stable and working better, you'll be able to run many Linux programs. It can currently run a few mp3 and OGG programs, though none run in real-time, yet. One of the mp3 programs runs 99% real time. I think the OGG is currently at, like, 40%...
