Thanks to all of you who helped me install Rockbox.

So... I've loaded some music on the 120.... and I'm all eager to try the optical out with my D-10, when I realize this optical out looks like no optical out I've ever seen. None of my optical cords fit.

Where can I find one that fits the 120 on one end and my ibasso D-10 on the other. Thanks in advance.... it never ends, does it?

mini optical is pretty common. I have half a dozen of the little adapters at home. Basically they just put the led (or sensor) at the end of a headphone jack.

monoprice sells reasonably priced cables here:

Audio Cables - Optical Toslink

But their shortest mini-to-toslink is 3 feet long, so it might not be so great for portable use. It is also of course plastic fiber, which IMHO really does have enough bandwidth for the job, but some people prefer glass - which is silly. If you wanted to go all-out it should be quartz.

iec60958 interfaces have a maximum bandwidth of 6mhz. An h120 will never approach that limit, because the codec doesn't go that high. To approach that limit, you'd have to be pushing 24/192 audio, and this DAP just won't.

Plastic optical fiber has a bandwidth of about 5mhz at a distance of 1 kilometer carrying red (650nm) light.

Typical toslink runs are substantially less than 1km.
