I remember 9/11, 2001. I was stationed outside, away from all information, while the events were going on. Except for one thing: I had my trusty Sangean DT 200V. With it, I was able to tune in to NBC TV and listen to all the events while they happened.

This post is in praise for the portable radio, a wonderful source of information in times of emergency, survival and crisis. There is so much information coming in when you have am, fm, tv and weather.
