'Evening everyone,
Recently, I've come across some articles (most of which were sporadic hits from Google) about Android using ALSA. While ALSA isn't the best-documented feature Linux has to offer, I've found even less information about it on Android. I recently installed alsamixer on my rooted S3, and I get a TON of options. Based on their labels (not, for instance, "headphone, mic, PCM, etc."), I have no idea what many of these options do.
So, I'm wondering if anyone could tell me more about how ALSA works in Android, and possibly how to configure it.
As a more general inquiry, I'm interested in direct hardware output on my device. If you can help me out with this, please post.
Thanks.
