An equalizer can reproduce the same signature as a tube amp

I will try to explain better, well some tubes can modify the original signature of the sound as everyone knows, making the sound darker, brighter and so on, can the equalizers do the same?

yes of course, tubes also influence the sound stage, image, separation and depth, but these characteristics can not be changed with equalization, even if by a minimal difference?

There are too many factors involved there. First is low noise performance, which is what helps create space between each instrument.

Second is the position of the headphone drivers relative to your ears (similar to how you position speakers in a room and if there are acoustic treatments). If they're not conducive to imaging then neither a tube amp much less an EQ will help. A Grado SR225 on a tube amp will have its treble rolled off a little but that won't push the cymbals back and close to the center, and given that you now hear more of its upper bass boost (if not boost that also), then that kick drum isn't going to move backwards. A K701 will have more air between the instruments and enhance its imaging capabilities on a tube amp that doesn't have damping factor issues that reduce its bass output.

An EQ can minimize problematic imaging if you reduce the frequency where the cymbals are but they're not going to move closer to the center with just EQ. And if you're mimicking a tube amp tone you're not going to trim the bass, but even if you did, the EQ will not magically move the bass drum to the rear on any headphone and magically transform it into a K702.

At best you mimic a tube amp tone by boosting the midrange a little and then rolling off the treble a bit, which at best brings the vocals front and center. This will do more to push the vocals towards you than push the other instruments to the rear away from the vocals and just making them "pop" out more.

If anyone has the parameters to do this with a 10 band eq please share.

Knowing it has 10bands isn't the same as knowing what exactly the center frequencies are. But try this first.

1. Boost every band below 150hz by +2dB
2. Boost 1000hz and 2000hz by +3dB.
3. Cut everything above 2000hz by -2dB

As always, well said.

Keep up the good work
