Hey guys,

Not a frequent thread starter, but interested to see what comes of the collective HF mind in response to the following query:

What desktop amp is flexible and versatile enough to drive a sensitive dynamic headphone (PS2000e) AND a power-hungry planar (HE-6) well for under $2000 (new or used)?

thanks in advance!
Joe

GS-X immediately came to mind. Maybe Schiit's Jotunheim.

Was the Conductor not a good enough versatile fit?

My suggestion is Violectric V280.

The GSX mini is my favorite SS amp that I have tried, but recently have been enamored with the Mjolnir 2. Upgraded tubes and cap swap have made this amp a stellar option with huge sounding stage and addictive tone and timbre. I have been running the Code LEX (HE5) and it has plenty of power to drive them, not sure how the HE6 will fair, but I imagine it will do well.
