Hey just another newboy asking if the amplifier in the X-Fi HD USB soundcard would do the job to power my Sennheiser PC 350's. I'm rushing to get my headset all fancied up before I hit ESEA playoffs for Counter Strike:Source as I am an avid competitive video gamer. I did only one modification and that would be the HD 555 earcup replacements. I have the Razer Barracuda AC-1(Bad positional sound) and am now using a Steelseries 5H USB soundcard (not really good). I was directed here to "get schooled in audio" and was hoping you guys would help me. I know you'd probably recommend the $200 soundcard equipped with amps like the Azuntech's/HT Claro's/AsusEssence STX's, but I do need to travel to lans and the money is a bit tight. Right now I am looking if this X-Fi has great positional audio and enough power to amp my PC 350's.

If your having trouble getting replies in this forum, you might want to move your
question over to the Computer Audio section seeing as this seem to be what
you question is about...

Good luck!

Go for it, the PC350 doesn't require a good amp, maybe it benefits from one, but it's not necessary. The real benefit here will be the CMSS3D from the Creative software, for the positional audio. You will have to properly configure Windows and the game to make CMSS3D work.
