Hello,

I'm new to Head-Fi and I've learned a lot so far by searching and reading posts. Like U2 though, "I still haven't found what I'm looking for".
My portable MD player is a keeper, a metal case Aiwa AM-ST40 with in-line remote control and gumstick battery. However, it only has a headphone out jack.
I think this means that adding an external amp is a non-option from what I've read. The internal Aiwa max output level is listed at 10 mW+10mW (16 ohm). I use Sennheiser PX100 headphones on the road with the Awia.
I have looked at small portable amps (e.g., Headsave Go-Vibe) but I do not see power ratings, just component listings.
Has anyone actually obtained any standard rating power outputs from the available headphone amps?
Is there any audible improvement that I could attain by using a portable headphone amp with my Aiwa headphone out jack?
