I have an iPod. Listen to jazz/blues/rock/some classical.
Headroom recommends amp w/ER4s but they say that amp gives too much bass to ER4P.
But...I read somewhere in here that ER4P is actually better w/amp.
I know it depends on who is listening, but can anyone shed light?

well, almost everything's better with an amp. It's just that the ER4P is usually able to hold its own without one.

for sure, the amp definately gives more air to the sound, better more accurate bass responce, sweeter even punchier midrange.

for the er4p? something simple is like a cha amp from jmt, or a total airhead.

I hear the JMT amps are pretty darn good, a nice size too (an altoid container) which should be good for your ipod/erp4
