True, but you STILL desperately need to upgrade your sound card, as the amp will bring out all the hiss of the sound card....

Well, no, digital has its own problems. It can be done badly, and it can be done well, but usually, it's done badly. Quote:

Well, up to a point. Don't mean to be redundant, but there's still the problem of the source. For example, when I was listening to the ass-end of a computer, the first thing I did to improve the sound (I was listening on Beyer DT770's) was to get an amp. The bass wasn't there.
