I am at the beginning of my Head-fi journey.

I came to this forum about 4 days ago after A friend gave me a pair of Beyerdynamic DT-990 pro (250 Ohm) headphones.
I have since then figured exactly what I will start with in my pursuit to Audio Nirvana.

I have recently purchased the following to handle my array of musical taste.

AKG Q701's
Sennheiser HD-600's

That said I need an amp preferably one that can handle headphones of all impendences but gentle enough to run lower impendence models such as the AKG Q701's

Am I asking too much buy finding an amp that can run both low and high impendence models of headphones?

Please leave a comment below on models and setups even if you include a DAC.

I have about $500ish to spend solely on an amp and I am not limited to any particular type of amp.

Thanks in advance everyone :)

What source(s) will you use?
What about a DAC?
You could get the Schiit Magni head amp. for $99, well under your budget.

If you like DIY amps, you could use for example a M3 with variable gain.
I personally have one with variable gain from 4 to 19, and it can easily drive any kind of headphone.

I want to try the Lyr. But here In Michigan, I have yet to find  a place that even sells an array of amps and I really want to try a tube amp for the first time.

If I remember correctly Schiit lets you try their products for 15 days with full refund. You could try that.
