Reading the reviews, the 501s sound like they might be exactly what I'm looking for. I care much more about vocal and treble fullness, soundstage, etc. than bass, which seems to be the 501's strengths. I'm really looking for that airy quality that makes music shine. But because I listen to pop, I need to find an amp that'll give these at least decent bass response. Budget is $350. I know the AKGs only work with certain amps...that's why I'm asking.

I have Xin's SuperMacro (four switches vesrions) and it drives them just fine. You can add gain and bass boost, the latter bringing more bas to these bass-shy cans but not too excess.

I find the combination to be really a good match.
