Hey guys i'm looking for an amp that is AC powered, to be used at home. I will be hooking it into an M audio Revolution and listening to EAC + Lame 320 Kbit MP3s all ripped from original CDs. I will be getting some grado SR 225s with bowl pads/flat pads and i'm also getting a grado 1/4" to 1/8" adaptor. I'm not sure about what interconnect i'm going to use yet (i suppose this would depend on the amp i get).

Basically the more sturdy the amp the better. I had a CHA 47 and it was a little to small for a home amp IMO.

I'm thinking maybe gilmore lite?

I suggest the gilmore lite. Owning a gilmore v2 with sr-225s at one time, the combination of the two was simply amazing. It really makes the grados shine.

what is your budget?

the gilmore lite is a good choice, and the upgraded external power supply would be a nice option if possible.

For about $145 new, the Headsave Classic (stock OPA2227 opamp + 24v PSU) will complement the SR225's very well. Take a look at the Classic at www.headsave.com

Would the best setup be to go with dual OPA627 and the 24V elpac power supply?

How would a single OPA627 sound versus 2 OPA627?

Also what is the difference between
OPA627AP for $15 each
OPA627BP for $20 each

From reading other posts it seems as though the best setup is

dual 627 op amps and 24v elpac
What about AD 8620?
OPA2227?
Other suggestions?

The "dual" 627 is because the 627 only comes in a single channel chip, the others you have listed have 2 channels in one chip, so no need for doubling up.
