Hello all,
I am currently using a grant fidelity tube dac 09 as my headphone amplifier and dac. Although it has a tube in it the headphone amplifier is solid state in the amp. I currently use a set of AKG k240MP's with the amp and I love it. I have a set of sennheiser hd580's and grado sr80i's that I will be attaining in the next couple of weeks. While I enjoy my current setup I want to explore the possiblilty of upgrading my amp. I would use the grant fidelity as a dac as I find it to do an amazing job with an older cd player as a transport. I listen to a wide variety of music including Nightwish, lots of female vocals, smooth jazz, techno etc. My budget is not restricted but around 400.
My main question is will I really hear much of a difference? $400 is a lot on a students budget. There is a darkvoice 3322 availibly locally for 350. I need some advice please. If there wont be much of a difference I would rather keep my money.
