What if you are using a Rio Karma or an AV-710?

I think I'll need help with amping the sa5000 also. I just sold my HD-650 because I'm mostly listening to rock and 650s made everything sound too soft. So I decided to order sa5000s. I was using senns with Aria, but now I've been reading that sa5000 would be better with something completely different than Aria. Many mention Bada ph12 or M^3 to have good synergy with sa5000. Where can I get more info about these two? So far it seems that M^3s are DIYs and all that I found of bada was this crappy site www.badahi-fi.com. Do you think that X can V3s would have good synergy with sa5000s?

For 450 exactly I can recommend tha Meier Corda Aria. These two pair together very well in my experience. I prefer the Meier SA-5000 combo better than the Meier with any of my other phones. Very smooth with none of the stridency of my Gilmore and better midrange. The bass however, is better with the bigger amp but is decent with the Aria. Either way the bass is some of the best I have experienced with headphones, though my experience is a bit limited.

if you're looking for a solution to dull SA5000's harsh character a bit and make it have warmer and richer sound,
I strongly recommend you to make some more money and get Graham Slee Solo MC.

among many amps I've tried, it's the only solid-amp solution with that I can change the sound of SA5000 most to what I want it to be -yeh, english is not my first language

-.

SA5000 + Solo MC is one of the best match I've ever experienced.

I guarantee you won't go wrong with Solo

You have been brainwashed by someone on this forum that has repeatedly told you that the Bada PH12 is the best for the money.

Hey, it is even better now with VT-231 tubes.

Currently running one Electro Harmonix as input tube and two RCA VT-231 as output tubes and it sounds great.

The Woo 3 is a good choice also for under $500.

I'd recommend a maxxed out M3 with jung regulator power supply and less capacitance on C7(more precision for the jung), removal of C2, with AD8065 opamps and 110mA fet bias.

I haven't found any better.
