So I just picked up my DT770s last week and my Zero today. I can't say I'm disappointed but I thought the DT770s would have deeper bass. I know I haven't properly burned them so I'm looking forward to that but would a proper amp (currently using the Zero's amp atm) give me that extra effect? After spending whatever I have for these two, my price range is in the 100-200~ range and I was looking at one the the LD amps, would anyone have any suggestions? Thanks :]

Not much bass with DT770! What opamps have got in your zero? I just hooked my DT770 to my zero h/a and the bass is deep and lush. My zero has hdam earth in dac and lc1364 in h/a, with 200+ hours on the unit. I'd give it some more time, then see if your bass picks up.

I usually run my DV332 from my zero, and its fantastic with my hd 650, but the 770 sound basstastic!

Just guessing that the OP has the Edition 2005 rather than the Pros of which you must be speaking.

Yes, I have the '05 edition (just purchased off amazon during their sale) and I have replaced the OPA2604 for OPA627s in the Zero. Just about 2 hours burned :p so I have a ways to go. hopefully it does pick up, thanks for the reassurance :]

I was in the same situation as you guys and decided on a Starving Student Hybrid Amp. I haven't gotten the amp yet, but I think the consensus is tubes/hybrids sound great with the DT770.
