Hello headfi masters,

I am looking for an amp for my HD650. I now connect them into an RME Fireface UC https://www.rme-audio.de/en/products/fireface_uc.php
so I guess I only need an amp without convertes (without DAC), since I will use my audiocard converters (?),

Budget is $300 and the goal is to achieve more details and less "veil".
I listen to Rock Musc and and Electro mixed with Rock.

I would hear opinions from hd650 owners, if possible.

Thank you!

Maybe save another 100 or look used for valhalla 2 or jotunheim. They are quite bright so it will lift the "veil". I only own the Valhalla 2 and it makes the hd 650 more spacious. From reading I think the Jotunheim sacrifices some of that space but has more low end and is a bit more "aggresive" so maybe it seems better suited for Electro kind of genres. Also it will pair better with other (low impedance) headphones if you choose to switch things up in the future.
The Magni 3 looks also very sweet at the price of only 99 bucks.

Never listened to the Sennheiser HD650.
But the Darkvoice 336SE OTL tube headphone amplifier ($214-$250), does a great job driving my 250-Ohm Beyer T90 and even the 600-Ohm Beyer DT990.
So the Darkvoice 336SE should easily drive the 300-Ohm HD650.

Also sold thru Amazon and eBay.
