I need an amp for my Toshiba SD-3960 and A900s. I haven't modifed the Toshiba but it seems that I might in the foreseeable future.

I would really like a PPA, but right now I think it's out of my budget.

I think of portability would be nice. But it's not really needed since I don't bring out my a900s often. My budget is around $150USD max.

I've been looking at the Go-vibe, HS classic, and maybe JMT audio portable Pimeta. Does anyone know how long this Pimeta would last on a plainview 9v? I was thinking maybe I could use plainviews and use the amp as mainly a home amp.

thx alot.

this is exactly what i'm mulling right now too - i have a modded toshiba 3960 in my sights, and i don't think my cmoy is going to be up to the task to handle that source on one end and my MS-2/DT700s on the other. let us know what you decide!

I'll put in a recommendation for a headsave classic. The builder, Norm, is very responsive to questions about the suitability of his amps. It should come in well under your budget.

hmm.. the more I think about it, the more it seems I should get the Classic. Does anyone know if low impedence headphones will benefit much from buying the 24v power supply vs 12v ps?
