hi everyone! just wanted to solicit some advice from the people who have more experience in terms of portable amps/dac.
What I'm trying to accomplish is to have one or a pair of device that would serve well both at home and on the road - something transportable / portable.
My sources are 3gs, Ipod 3g, asus netbook. Listening component would be a yuin pk1, and possibly a denon 2000 or 5000 in the future.
Basically, from all that I've read so far, here are the options I came up with. Help me choose!
1. XM5 - good overall for price/value, but the DAC portion is lacking (compared to other options)
2. Ibasso D4 - will the improvement be substantial enough not to want to upgrade? (for some time) Also, concern about interference because main source is iphone. No experience in rolling amps.
3. Pico Amp / Dac - expensive but seems to work well with everything
4. Pico Slim + Nuforce uDac - 2 separate components, pricey too.
What do you guys think? Appreciate your thoughts!
