I just purchased a fostex th600 and I wanted to know what amp/dac recommendations you have. I'm new to the headphone hobby. I will be only using the headphones with my pc for music, movies, etc. I would like to keep my budget under $1000 for both amp and dac. I'm not sure if a solid state or tube amp pairs better with these. Some of the items I have been looking at are:
Woo audio wa7
Fostex hp-a4 (recommended by the guy I bought the headphones from but believe it is only an amp)
Burson soloist sl (believe this is only an amp)
Audio-gd nfs-15 (I don't feel comfortable buying from their website)
From what I understand the headphones don't need a lot of power because of their low impedance and their max input is 1.8 watts.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
