amp and speaker recommendations

Ctn, I would stay away from Yamaha speakers. I don't know these Gale speakers you mentioned, but for a sub, the Hsu Research VTF2 has received much praise and retails for about $460 (I think). Again, I don't know the personally -- I just have a stereo bookshelf system -- the Axiom Millenia M3Ti bookshelf speakers ($235 shipped for the pair) hooked up to my Creek 5250 integrated amp.

DanG: Generally you're right about Yamaha speakers, but sometimes they also have reasonably good ones - the MS-G40MkII for example, or their newer NS-line including the NS-100 and NS-200. And their subwoofers are in fact quite nice for the price, too...

i forgot what the name of the sub was...but was yst something but the dude said its one of yamaha's better amps. his exact words were "yamaha makes some pretty lousy amps but this is one of their better amps"

im thinking of getting a rega amp...i heard the brio...sounds so kick ass
