While still a the point of deciding what head-FI to buy, I'm wondering if an amp would be of any use for a mainly iPOD or a laptop h-FI use. Not that I wanna complaint about the cost of wanting great sound out of head-FI, but damn, considering +/- 160 USD for a pair of those + about 200 USD for an amp....

That's simply one thing I can't afford...so what's the part to sacrifice?

thx for your help!

If your source is mainly iPod and your laptop,
I'd say a Headroom Bithead (a Total Bithead if you want to invest even more)would be a good choice.
Note that I haven't really heard it myself,
but from what I have read,
the bitheads are some pretty good amps for USB/portable use.
Hope that helps.

From what I've read, I heard the bitheads aren't nearly worth the price?

The amps from http://www.headsave.com/.
Very good price/performance ratio.
