I've been lurking around the message boards for some time but this is my first post. Amazon if having a 50% off sale on some phones. All of these phones have been mentioned in innumerable threads, but I was hoping someone could chime in with a comparison for me. These will be everyday ipod phones, bass, clarity and comfort are important. Or maybe you know of sales elsewhere of better phones at my current price point? If I were to spend $100 on the Shures here, I could probably by Head Direct R2s for the same price elsewhere.
Anyways thoughts? I haven't been able to find a review of the Custom 1 yet.

Shure E3C - $99

I vote for Denon's C551. They have good bass and good clarity (for dynamic drivers headphones). Forget Shure and Klipsch. While clarity is very good, they lack powerful bass and impact.
You may also consider Audio Technica CK7 very good clarity, little less bass than C551 (but still quite enough for "fun" sound).

Those Denons are cheap. I would jump on them for sure, especially if you like bass.
