Neo,
That is very expensive for a pair of old headphones. I wonder how much my E484 will bring.

Purk,
CD6 must be pretty good. The original cost was 14000 yen, compared with 8000 yen of MDR-E484. I wanted to bid on this one but the price has gone to the twilight zone

Neo,
I have a hard time believing that the CD6 will be better than the Senn HD-600 or your CD1700. I would save the money and built a good portable amp, and later upgrade to the HD600...and stop there for awhile.

I should hopefully be receiving the D311 today... will finally find out what all the fuss is about

Bet it doesn't beat the D50 with the Sony CD1700s though

I don't know if thats a blessing or a curse!?

When I first began to use MDR-E484/888, I thought it must be the true sound! Then it was Senn HD560, MDR-D77 (higher spec than D66SL), Grado SR60, Senn MX500, B & O A8, AT-W1000 and now MDR-CD3000. My earbuds are only here for for sentimental reason.

The ear can only be upgraded, not downgraded.

Woa, I can't hope to compete with all these long retro lists, but well, does having an mdr-A20 and a genuine mdr-31 qualify for team retro? Strange, I still posses the headphones, but no longer the walkmen they came with. I don't know what that means, but it's gotta mean something.

Hey I only got one Sony Style issue which has CoCo Lee on the cover...

And then there's these Sony Style Canada catalogs I get in the mailbox every now and then...

And then there's my Trinitron TV, my Trinitron monitor, my Sony Ericsson cellphone... lol! Sony's an integral part of my life!

I remember the Coco Lee issue....that was one of the last issues of Sony Style magazine....at least in the US.

I believe the first issue of Sony Style was published in 1996 (?) and it was a quarterly magazine. Basically it was just a "lifestyle" magazine with non-stop Sony product information. I had every single issue up until the last one that I saw at bookstores like Barnes and Noble. I eventually got rid of all of them during a house-cleaning. Maybe I should've kept them for the product info.....
