Can the Altec Lansing MX5021 be used with the emu 1212m? If so, how? Because the altecs use a mini to mini, while the emu uses a left and right mono. Do I just need an adapter? THanks.

I guess you need something like this :

3.5mm stereo jack - 2xRCA
No ?

I also have a question for you : If you have the Altecs, what do you find about them ?

Yes, you just need to get an adapter. Finding these kind of adapters isn't always obvious. You can make one yourself of course (See DIY cable guide).

An amp isn't required because the altecs are self-powered if that is what you ment?

If you want to save some money and get great results, you could DIY the cable and come up with some great results.

2x Mono 1/4" Plug
1 Canare F-12 Headphone Jack
Mogami Neglex Cable @ $0.50 something cents a foot

You could do it with under $10 in parts and it would sound better than any Monster Cable out there.

Or you could just get this.

Go to your local musician's store, and pick up a cable with twin 1/4" mono connectors on one end, and a single 1/8" connector on the other. They should have 3', 6', 12' lengths (etc....). t'll be high enough quality, and nice and easy.

It's not the cheapest way (homebuilt) but it's still pretty cheap.
